A ship loaded rockets designated for NASA was too tall to pass under the Eggner Ferry Bridge, Kentucky. The ship crashed right into the bridge and left a 100 meter hole in the bridge construction, equal to two full sections of the bridge.

No one was hurt in the crash, as no cars were passing the bridge at the moment of the impact. “We were incredibly lucky that no one was on the bridge, which is crossed by app. 2800 vehicles every day” said Governor Steve Beshear to Skynews. None of the ship’s crew members were hurt either.

Emergency crew and police arrived quickly to assess the damages. Now they are trying to figure out how to repair the bridge.

“We’ll turn our attention to a full inspection of the bridge and determine what steps we can take next to speed up the replacement of that important artery.” Governor Steve Beshear added.
—-

How on earth could this happen?

How could a ship with such delicate cargo not see that it would not be able to pass under the bridge.

Maybe NASA needs to find some other, and more attentive company to deliver their dangerous items?

When we have to explain the fear of Friday the 13th, we have to look back in time.

Friday the 13th is an annoying day according to a lot of people, and in 2012 we will have three Friday the 13th.

But why is this day so scary?

It is not only connect to the popular film series about Friday the 13th. There are many more underlying causes. The connection between the number 13 and Friday is relatively new, but separately the number and the day have both been connected to something negative.

Friday is connected to bad luck as it was the day that Jesus was crucified. Another explanation is found in the myth that you can not start new work on a Friday, because then it will not be completed, and you can’t get married on a Friday, as it would prevent you from having children.

The number is…13

Some people suffer from a fobia, called paraskavedekatria; the fear of the number 13.

A lot of hotels around the world doesn’t have a 13th floor, and even some airports don’t have a gate called Gate 13. The same goes for several surgery rooms in many hospitals.

Some attribute the fear of the number 13 to the story of The Last Supper, where Judas, the disciple who betrayed Jesus, was the 13th to sit at the table.

However most of us love Fridays, as it is the door to the weekend…as long as it is not on the 13th.

One of the most talked about weddings in 2011 was when Katy Perry and Russell Brand said yes to each other. One a famous singer and musician, and the other an actor with a huge following, despite various reported escapades.

Well it is no news that they now have split up as they have both been quite visible in the media, talking about the spilt, or as Russell Brand did, take off his wedding ring in public on camera, eve before the spilt was announced officially.

Why on earth would anyone do that?

In these social media times, many celebrities use Twitter to involve the whole world in their happy and sad times. Some use the so-called ghost writers who are just anonymous writers, hired to cure the public image of the stars. However, it seems like Katy Perry is her own lady when it comes to feeding her followers with Twitter info. Here is what she wrote on her Twitter profile the other day:

Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, “close sources” or my family.

However, star life must be a lonely place, especially when you, as Katy Perry did, wrote on her Twitter, that she thanked her fans for all their support.

I am so grateful for all the love and support I’ve had from people around the world. You guys have made my heart happy again

That’s just a bit tacky, if you ask me!

Using remedies to enhance your appearance has been know since the beginning of time, but in the last few decades the dream of the perfect look has been pursued with an extreme aggressivity.

This boom may have started when visual marketing started back in the 1960′ies, and step by step we have been told what was hot and what was not, and the media moguls started trends that dictated how we would become better persons and how we could live a better life.

Today it is not unheard of that young teenage girls in many parts of the world receive new breasts for their birthdays, and a big part of both men and women have been under the knife in the name of beauty.

The more available and these methods and remedies become, the more we will see people looking more and more alike, and not lastly, often very unnatural, although the initial aim was to become more beautiful.

Very few celebrities can honestly say that they have not enhanced their looks by using plastic surgery, Botox or other drastic methods.

And there are some horrific examples of people who have taken it too far… in my opinion. These days actors feel the press of landing roles so much, that they can transform dramatically between two roles. Some “just” get a nip’n'tuck, while others go to more extreme measures.

However these days Botox has become one of the most used enhancement remedies, partly due to reduced prices compared to the past, and partly because it is less invasive than many other methods.

But come on, you can spot a Botox user miles away. All these (mostly) female Botox users, have the same swelling lips that just jump right into your face, and their full and smooth brows and cheeks just sit there immobilizing their faces.

They have become victims of one single global image of what we should look like, and there is no hope for a stop to this human remodeling.

Victims or NOT victims?
Pathetic or perfect?
Ugly or beautiful?
Right or wrong?

It doesn’t really matter, does it?

This young singer conquered the the hearts of millions of teenage girls, and even their mothers, and you have to admit that Justin Bieber does infact have a decent voice.

Justin Bieber was actually discovered by Scooter Braun, who first saw clips of Bieber on YouTube, and the rest is history.

Justin Bieber is under the protective wings of both Braun and Usher, and since 2009, when Bieber’s first single was released, they have been controlling or “guiding” the young Bieber’s career, and the result is both scary and curious.

Apart from having had 7 singles from his debut on Billboard Hot 100, he has performed with more stars than any other seasoned artist could ever dream of. Just to mention a few: Stevie Wonder, Usher and Ryan Seacrest.

Bieber has also already landed a lot of roles in TV Series and movies.

What really makes me wonder in this Bieber hysteria is how his mentors could let him record “All I Want For Christmas Is You” with Mariah Carey. Not the actual fact that he has recorded a duet with Mariah Carey, but that a 17 year old, sings these actual words to a 41 year old woman.

Is Justin Bieber just a money machine to clever music executives, or will Bieber be able free himself from the chains that he has ended up in?

I wonder…
