One of the most talked about weddings in 2011 was when Katy Perry and Russell Brand said yes to each other. One a famous singer and musician, and the other an actor with a huge following, despite various reported escapades.

Well it is no news that they now have split up as they have both been quite visible in the media, talking about the spilt, or as Russell Brand did, take off his wedding ring in public on camera, eve before the spilt was announced officially.

Why on earth would anyone do that?

In these social media times, many celebrities use Twitter to involve the whole world in their happy and sad times. Some use the so-called ghost writers who are just anonymous writers, hired to cure the public image of the stars. However, it seems like Katy Perry is her own lady when it comes to feeding her followers with Twitter info. Here is what she wrote on her Twitter profile the other day:

Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, “close sources” or my family.

However, star life must be a lonely place, especially when you, as Katy Perry did, wrote on her Twitter, that she thanked her fans for all their support.

I am so grateful for all the love and support I’ve had from people around the world. You guys have made my heart happy again
